In one of WRG’s most innovative and creative challenges, Porto Arabia on The Pearl-Qatar celebrated the festive season with exceptional and unique Christmas decorations.
The WRG creative team pushed their boundaries as they designed a concept throughout the Porto Arabia area that would leave visitors in awe at the sheer size and detail of each of the decorations, resulting in WRG winning this pitch over four professional Christmas decoration suppliers.
These decorations included:
- An outdoor 40ft Christmas tree
- Over 25 giant Christmas presents ranging from 0.5m to 4m2
- 7 kilometres of bespoke palm tree lighting
- Over 270 waterfront garlands
- A 2 tonne bauble wreath complete with bow and lighting
- A 20ft indoor bauble tree
- A 27 storey building wrap, 100m in width, 80m high with a 7m x 7m bow complete with night-time chase sequence lighting.
With the bow visible up to three miles away, residents and visitors soon came to investigate the newly installed decorations, resulting in the footfall on The Pearl-Qatar dramatically increasing overnight. A fantastic vibe was created on the Porto Arabia boardwalk, supplemented by a dozen talented street performers who were selected by WRG following auditions in Europe.
