On the 1st June, WRG Qatar collected the prestigious Middle East Event Award for ‘Outstanding Event using a Temporary Venue.’ The Awards night, held at Dubai’s World Trade Centre, bought together suppliers and event agencies from across the Middle East to celebrate the year’s achievements. Viewed as the finale to a hectic event season, the award organisers received over 200 submissions as each award was fiercely contested and companies and individuals alike try to stake their claim to be recognised as the region’s best.
Judged by an international panel of industry renowned experts, the ’77 Drum’ beat off tough competition including a bespoke structure built for Qatar’s successful FIFA World Cup bid and structures from Abu Dhabi and Dubai. However, The Drum with its world firsts in design, engineering and construction, stood out from among the competition to win the highly coveted award.
